Assigning back to the seller
QUESTION:
Adam. I’ve been reading about assigning a lease option back to the seller. I want to know, is this what I would do if the seller wants to split the option consideration instead of giving me the whole consideration? If so how would I assign my interest back to the seller?
ANSWER:
Assigning back to the seller is all pretty much the same. One of the advantages is that the tenant/buyer won’t know how much you made. The other advantage is that it puts the seller on the hook for your assignment fee, making sure they stick to their end of the bargain with the tenant/buyer.
I have done almost all of my deals this way.
