Do I need state specific contracts?
QUESTION:
Good Evening Adam. I spoke with my attorney today about the lease option contracts. He looked over them and he said that he would suggest that I should get state specific contracts. My only concern is the extra provisions section on the T/B option to purchase agreements. Is There any way I can add this section to the state specific forms, if this section is missing? Do I need the Extra Provisions an addendum?
I know the concept doesn’t change, but I am concerned about the change of content in the state specific forms.
ANSWER:
The attorney is going to have the final answer on this. However, the only part that was “state specific” on the lease purchase was the disclosures. Everything else was about the same. Keep in mind that there’s eviction policies etc that must adhere etc. If you get your hands on a “GA” lease, simply compare the two with your attorney and know which parts stay.
And yes, you’re correct about the concept remaining.
Hope that helps,
Adam
